A historic moment unfolded on March 2nd, 1908, when Tedder became the first witness at the Royal Commission on Whiskey, where the concept of whisky was debated fervently. On one side, the purists argued for Pot Still whisky as the sole definition, while the blenders championed the combination of grain and malt whiskies. Ultimately, the Scots and the blenders emerged victorious, ensuring that blends could be called Whisky and Scotch if distilled in Scotland—a sensible outcome embraced by the industry. Inspired by Tedder's dedication, our whisky is aged in the finest American oak sherry casks, meticulously stored in our Glengoyne warehouses. We honor his attention to detail and exacting standards, which not only established the rules followed by the entire whisky world but also inspired the Glengoyne family to pursue perfection, embodying the cherished Unhurried Glengoyne Way.
