I resolved to make this year the one of martinis, but I needed a gin bracing and sharp enough for my Riesling loving heart, and I finally found the missing piece in Menaud, a Quebecois gin that tastes a little like melted snow and freshly fallen pine needles.

Menaud is a Canadian distillery/microbrewery based out of Quebec. The Gin was fermented from wheat and rye that grow locally within the l’Isle-aux-coudres and then twice distilled prior to the addition of local botanicals during the third distillation. A pleasant mixture of salty, woody, citrus rounded out by plenty of floral and pepper.Menaud is a terroir-driven distillery, and the idea was inspired by a literary character from Felix Antoine-Savad. Menaud is the first distillery/microbrewery in the Charlevoix region.
The blend for this gin is 75% wheat and 25% rye.
